. the right has been saying president obama and his health law are dead for weeks. months, years. but guess what. both are still here. today the national journal writes about president obama's resilience. can obama recover? he did already. joining me now is the reporter with that story, national journal political correspondent alex sikes wald and james peterson, professor at lehigh university. thank you for being here. alex, your piece is about the president recovering. tell us what you noticed. >> if i had a dollar for every time somebody said obama or obama care is doomed, i could pay for the website rebuild myself. you know, at every stage when scott brown got re-elected, everyone was sure obama care was done. when the tea party came, everybody said obama care was done. obama himself, from controversies like the irs to when he criticized the arrest of henry lewis gates, he's been done. and he continued. this should be no surprise to anyone who's paid attention to history. bill clinton emerged from an impeachment scandal with the highest approval rating of his career. he's the president.

's right. the gop wants you to believe president obama's health care law is the real war on women. oh, the irony. especially since just last week we learned that gop men are being tutored on how to talk to women. and according to a staff at one of those meetings, quote, some of these guys have a lot to learn. where would they possibly get that idea? >> if it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. >> even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that god intended to happen. >> the incidents of rape resulting in pregnancy are very low. >> well, maybe they can get some pointers on how to talk to women from the real boss of the party. listen to what he said today. >> -- yourself staring looking at, casually glancing at a woman. but you know that it's now socially taboo. you shouldn't be doing it. and you think everybody is noticing you doing it and condemning you in their minds. you walk up to the woman and say, would you please ask your breasts to stop staring at my eyes. try that. might help. you don't know un

on the show complaining about how much obama care would hurt small businesses? but it turned out it just wasn't true. they hadn't even visited the website. and just their week the new york post ran a story about parents who couldn't get their toddler covered under obama care. then it went on tv. >> how is it possible that you go to look for an insurance plan and baby erin is not covered? can you walk us through that? >> it was nightmare. >> being a parent and having four children, to find out that your baby is not going to be on the plan is quite distressing. >> this story was all over the place. even john boehner got in on it tweeting quote, i couldn't believe what i was being told. a dad who learned obama care wouldn't cover his baby. but that turned out to be totally false too. why? the father's application listed only three children. turns out he has four. oops. now we come to expect these bogus stories from conservative media. but from the speaker of the house? speaker boehner, did you think we wouldn't notice you are stuck inside the right wing media bubble? nice try, but it's bursting,
